School Locations (2020-2021)

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are switching to one-on-one online lessons to ensure the safety of our volunteers as well as students and staff.

Typically, all schools are accessible by public transportation, and most are within 45 minutes of travel time from the U of A campus.

If we are not currently partnered with your school and you are interested in having the HCMP provide lessons once it is safe to do so, please apply here!

Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre (NCFRC)

Since 1963, NCFRC has been supporting children and families within Norwood and surrounding communities. The centre acts as a hub and provides a place where families can feel a sense of belonging and connectedness to other families. For more information about NCFRC, visit http://www.norwoodcentre.com/.

The HCMP partnered with the NCFRC to provide piano lessons at the centre on Saturdays beginning the fall of 2013. This program allowed students who have graduated from our elementary school program to continue lessons, and for students not attending the schools we currently operate in to have the opportunity to receive lessons. This includes clients of the NCFRC.

Student application forms for 2019-20 are now closed. We are currently looking into the feasibility of safely operating our Saturday program during the 2020-2021 school year during the COVID-19 outbreak and will provide further updates on this page come mid-August. To be considered for application, students must be referred by NCFRC or an EPSB/ECSD elementary school.
